I went to Palma de Mallorca to meet up with some old friends and booked Amic Horizonte Hotel. Be prepared for a lot of walking up and down hills but it is worth it the view from the balcony was fantastic. The rooms do need updating but I would stay there again as the staff are great and can’t do enough for you. The food I found was good and I booked breakfast only and then if I wanted I could pay for dinner, which was fifteen euros. The drinks , such as the beer is only two euros. If you want luxury this hotel is not for you but if you want a nice relaxed atmosphere with good customer service this is it. Taxi to Palma central is on average about 7.80euros.also bus over the other side of the road into Palma by the Cathedral five euros.

Firstly I would like to give a BIG THANKYOU to the staff of the hotels restaurant, my wife accidently spilled a glass of wine during our evening mean and the restaurant staff especially the lady who was also serving drinks couldn't have done more to help us, moved us to a new table, cleaned up the mess and even replaced our drink free of charge, all done with a smile and without fuss, again many thanks. As for the hotel, we stayed one night before a cruise and three nights after and can honestly say we loved every minute of our stay. Had contact with a number of different staff members who where all friendly and professional. Room, had a superior room with sea view and Jacuzzi bath, fridge and so on which was clean comfortable and had views you would never get tired of. Breakfast and the evening meal could be a bit of a mismatch and probably geared more towards Spanish guests so may not suit some but its our kind of food so we enjoyed every meal. The hotel is a few miles from the centre of Palma but that isn't a problem as the number 46 bus can be got just outside the hotel and takes you to the centre for one euro fifty per person. Hotel seems to going through a bit of a refurbishment so there's the odd half painted wall and so on but this didn't effect our stay. To sum up, I would gladly recommend this hotel and will definitely be having another stay in it next year just longer than four days as that wasn't enough time.

If you’re looking for a room with a view, Horizonte is probably the best-located hotel (in that part of town). The view is amazing and with undisturbed outlook over the harbor and horizon - even from the room (stayed in a superior room). The pool area is also super nice and the service is friendly and helpful. On the downside, the hotel is really, really old and desperately needs fixing inside and outside.. The breakfast is okay, but don’t expect any nice surprises - and if you’re looking for good coffee, go to the small cafè just opposite of the hotel entrance.

This is a reasonable hotel but be prepared to do a lot of walking up and down hills. It is quite a distance from the historic centre of Palma although quite a pleasant walk along the sea front. There is also a good bus service.

I didn't exactly get what I expected. Way too expensive for simple double room, where by the water in the shower wasn't flowing away. After a minute shower you'd be standing in a pool of water ! The air conditioning wasn't functioning well even after complaining several times. My 11 years old daughter had to pay the same amount as an adult because it was just me (her mum) and her ! All the same, it's my fault, it was just a spontaneous trip, I could have taken my time to search for a better hotel with better rates or the rates should be worth it!
